Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology
A scholarship will be awarded annually to a student enrolled at Missouri State University with a declared major in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology.
Applicant must be a junior standing with 60 or more credit hours or senior standing with 90 or more credit hours. Applicant must also have a minimum 3.00 overall grade point average.
Recipient must be enrolled in at least 12 hours the semester they receive the scholarship.
Preference will be given to a student who exhibits a record of service, leadership, and qualities consistent with a goal of the Missouri State University public affairs mission, "To produce citizens of enhanced character, more sensitive to the needs of community, more competent and committed in their ability to contribute to society and more civil in their habits of thought, speech and action." To show this pledge, applicant shall submit a one page letter to the Department Awards Committee explaining his/her experience in and commitment to public service.
Financial need may be considered when making the award.
Current scholarship amount is $1,000.
